A woman is dead and two men are nursing gunshot wounds after a wedding turned deadly in Negril, Westmoreland Saturday evening.
Dead is 31-year-old, Rushema Senior from Riverside District, Hanover.
It’s understood the deceased is related to the couple who were getting married. It’s understood the two injured men were employed as photographers.
Reports are armed men approached the wedding on a motorcycle. The event was being held at a hotel in the resort town.
One of the men reportedly alighted from the vehicle on a road close to the nuptials and opened fire through a fence, sending the guests scampering.
The Westmoreland police are investigating the incident.
 
There has been a slight reduction in murders in Westmoreland up to March 11 this year.
According to the latest statistics available from the constabulary, 18 people have been murdered in division nine less than the 27 homicides in the parish over the similar period in 2022.
